As a tutor, any convictions may not be treated as spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You are required to declare all criminal convictions & cautions. This information will be treated in confidence. Failure to declare a conviction may require us to exclude you from our register if the offence is not declared but later discovered. A conviction will not necessarily be a bar to registration, but an Enhanced Disclosure will be required for tutors of minors. Any matter revealed in a disclosure shall be discussed with you before any registration decision is made. Copies of our policies regarding the recruitment of ex-offenders & the security & safekeeping of disclosure information together with the CRB’s Code of Practice are available for inspection in our office.
